Jay-Z The New Face of “Scrooge”
According to Necole Bitchie, Jay-Z has new found enemies on Wall Street. Apparently Hov has pissed the “Occupy Wall Street” protestors off by releasing Rocawear’s new t-shirts displaying the words “Occupy All Streets” and refusing to share any of those profits with the Occupy movement (According to Forbes, Jay-z earned $63 million just last year)…
Daniel Edwards, a sculptor, who was very livid with Hov recently released a sculpture resembling Jay-z with other “money-hungry” characters stacked on top of him. He calls the piece “Scrooge Totem Pole.”
“I think Jay-Z has made himself a face of the Wall Street that occupiers are protesting against. Maybe Jay-Z is striving to be in the one percent? Which is why I chose the composition of the totem pole because I thought it would resemble the number 1. Rap stars who turn “Scrooge” have to suffer some damage to their street credibility.”
Sculpture composed of Jay-Z wearing multiple chains (one with a big dollar sign on his chest), stacked on top are 3 fictional “Scrooge-like” TV characters, Mr. Burns from “The Simpsons”, Scrooge McDuck from “Christmas Carol” and Richie Rich.
