Jason Kidd Retires After 19 Years

19 seasons, 10 all-star appearances, 2 gold metals, and one NBA championships later….

New York Knicks veteran point guard, Jason Kidd announces that “it is time” to retire from the NBA! After a relaxing weekend in Georgia, Kidd sat down with his agent and came to the decision to hang up his kicks an begin a new chapter in his life…

When you think about 19 years, it has been a heckuva ride. Physically, I want to be able to participate in activities with my kids so it has taken a toll. It is time to move on and think about maybe coaching or doing some broadcasting.

Kidd is sure to be an hall of famer, and will leave his footprints in NBA history, finishing 2nd all-time assist and steal leader behind John Stockton.

Props to ESPN for the story…

[She.Got.Game] Mike D’Antoni Resigns

Who knew that the same coach that brought his the LIN-sanity mania earlier this year, would be announcing “retirement” just weeks later! Everyone thought that the Knicks would be contenders in the Eastern conference this year after acquiring both Amare Stoudamire and Carmelo Anthony for the new season, whom both are repeat all-stars but that was not the case! Knicks struggled early into the season, and the analysis was that they lacked a good point guard.

Mike D’Antoni decided to take a chance on Jeremy Lin, an undrafted guard out of Harvard university and it was one of the greatest moves for the team! With Carmelo out due to injury Jeremy Lin lead the team to 6 consecutive wins! It gave the fans in Madison Square Garden hope….thats until……….Carmelo Anthony came back and the Knicks began to fail again.

D’Antoni is known for his offensive point guard centered coaching style, and as we all know, that did not sit to well with Carmelo Anthony [Who always wants the offense ran through him]. With that being said, I don’t believe that Melo had nothing to do with the decision of D’Antoni resigning! D’Antoni saying that he had “lost his locker room” did help Anthony’s case.

Knicks are looking to get Phil Jackson to come out of retirement to coach the team, and sources also say that former Jazz coach Jerry Sloan is interested in coaching the knicks as well

[She.Got.Game] Jeremy Lin’s Game Winning 3…

Looking for their 6 win in a row, being lead by the new Asian Sensation, Jeremy Lin, The New York Knicks headed into Toronto for a hard-fought game!

With 15 seconds left in the game, shot clock off, Jeremy Lin called isolation, and with 0.5 seconds left drained a game winning 3 pointer! This TRUE point guard is exactly what the New York Knicks needed. Although we still waiting to see in the team when everyone is healthy [pretty much waiting to see if Melo fits in this new line-up with his “i always got to shoot” work ethic], i think if they can all play together, the Knicks can actually contend in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Check out Jeremy Lin’s shot below:
